I took a blogging break throughout August and September so that I could focus on planning our late September wedding, our short but sweet honeymoon to Newport, Rhode Island, and trips to two of my cousins’ weddings all packed into a two month period. But that whirlwind of activity wasn’t the only reason I went on hiatus. I’ve had a lot of changes in my life throughout the past year, and while I thought after getting through the last couple of months I’d want to start pouring my energy into growing this blog again, I’m not sure it’s the right space for my life right now.
This WIAW covers a Saturday that began with post run brunch in New York City and ended at a wedding with perhaps the most food I’ve ever seen in one room. Unfortunately I was too busy to get many photos, but I hope my description does it justice! Anyway, brunch was two gluten free waffles along with a spinach and Cheddar cheese omelet.
And the second month of marathon training has begun! This was a cutback week, so my overall mileage decreased compared to last week, but I felt good on each and every run despite a few twinges in my hip that I’ve been feeling lately. Getting to the starting line injury free is a top priority, so I’ll consider it a good week overall.
Another month gone and suddenly we’re halfway through 2016. The first six months of this year were a whirlwind of activity, and things are only set to get busier from here on out. You can take a look at January, February, March, April, and May, and then read on for my June monthly recap!
Since yesterday’s post was all about my dear friend Lauren’s wedding, I’m sharing my usual weekly workouts and updates today instead. I ended up deviating from Laura’s plan for my second week of marathon training a little bit because life got in the way, but I think I’ve got it all under control since it’s still so early. Read on for a look at my running this week, and a glimpse of other life happenings during the week and weekend!
This weekend, one of my close childhood friends tied the knot with her now-husband at West Point. Lauren is truly one of the loveliest people I know, both inside and out, dedicating her life to Nick, to her family and friends, and to her patients as a nurse. Her bridal shower was wonderful, and as it happened, the wedding was probably the most beautiful one I’ll ever attend.
