WIAW #45

This WIAW showcases the adding-in portion of my elimination. Last week, I first welcomed dairy back into my life after my three weeks were up, and the world got a little bit brighter once I had my yogurt, ice cream, and cheese to enjoy in moderation. Grains came in a few days later, but that didn’t go quite as well. The morning started off sweetly enough, with my first Cookie Dough Oatmeal Cake in months alongside a Pink Lady apple. I’ve been enjoying my quinoa flake bakes for breakfast, especially when gooey with peanut butter and chocolate chips, but I didn’t realize how much I missed my oats, especially since I’ve been limited grains for awhile now.

Weekly Workouts and Weekend Updates: Frozen Edition 2/8-2/15

I’m coming at you a little later than usual this Monday with my weekly workouts and weekend updates. Having my office closed on President’s Day means I get to work from home and squeeze in some baking and blogging. It’s been a long week, and a cozy but absolutely arctic weekend, but there were some shorter runs and a lot of food to fuel them.

Hosting an Allergy Free Dinner Party

As I mentioned in my weekly recap and WIAW, I hosted my second annual dinner party last Saturday evening. I’m calling it second annual because I hosted my first one last February, and I’m hoping to continue the tradition of bringing friends from different parts of my life together on a Saturday night during a short and chilly month for years to come.

WIAW #44

This WIAW showcases one of the last days of my elimination, when I was missing dairy like crazy and still super hungry all the time. I had high hopes last Thursday that a baked quinoa cake, a few dollops of peanut butter, and a giant apple might hold me over from breakfast for an entire two hours until an early lunch. No such luck, though it was delicious.

WIAW #36

Another Wednesday, another WIAW. Except that usually I’d expect to be sharing mugs of hot cocoa to stave off the winter chill, when in reality we’ve been having a bit of an Indian Summer spell this December in New York City and what I’d really like most of the time is a bowl of fresh berries! Which luckily I got this week, at breakfast for a work seminar. I had a slice of smoked salmon quiche beforehand since it’s usually just bagels, but the fruit was a nice surprise.

Grain Free Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies

There’s been a lot of chocolate around this blog lately – dark chocolate to be specific. I’ve shared my Double Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cake for breakfast, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake Bars and Decadent Dark Chocolate Cupcakes for dessert, and Cocoa Chocolate Chip Muffins and Paleo Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies for snacks anytime. Today’s recipe takes all that chocolate to a new level of intensity. These grain free Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies are so dense and delicious, you’ll feel like you’re taking a bite of a solid dark chocolate bar, if that bar had the texture of fudge.

A delicious, dense dark chocolate fudge brownie recipe, gluten free and perfect for the chocolate lover in your life.
