June Monthly Recap

Another month gone and suddenly we’re halfway through 2016. The first six months of this year were a whirlwind of activity, and things are only set to get busier from here on out. You can take a look at January, February, March, April, and May, and then read on for my June monthly recap!

Weekly Recap and the MORE Women’s Half Marathon

Yesterday, I ran my third half marathon of 2016 at the MORE Women’s Half Marathon in Central Park. I’ll share my weekly workouts and then get to the race recap and other scenes from the weekend. Actually, first I’m going to show you all this beautiful creature I spotted on my walk home from work on Tuesday, because puppies are priorities. But after that!

Weekly Workouts and Updates: Spring Has Sprung, 3/7-3/13

I don’t want to jinx it, but after this week, it seems like spring has sprung in New York City and I couldn’t be happier with the sunshine. It wasn’t a particularly cold winter. In fact, most of it was rather mild, save the arctic freeze over Valentine’s Day weekend. But there’s something about the arrival of spring, a season when the world is in bloom and everything is reborn, that’s particularly conducive to lazy weekend mornings, long runs in the not-yet-hot sun, fresh foods, and a general feeling that now is the time when new hopes and dreams can come alive.

Weekly Workouts and Updates 2/16-2/22

I’m feeling pretty refreshed this Monday after getting to spend some of the weekend at the place I still consider home in Connecticut. It’s always nice to escape Manhattan, and when I don’t have the chance for awhile, I tend to get a little bit antsy, so I took advantage of the opportunity during the one weekend in February I didn’t have a ton of plans. I don’t have much to report on the running end of things. I took it easy again this week because of how I was feeling the week prior. But I’ll share my usual weekly workouts and updates anyway. And some photos of Sasha, because when I’m home I spend all the time with her that I can.

Weekly Workouts + Gridiron 4M Race Recap

It’s Monday, and somehow it feels like the weekend never happened. Maybe because mine was packed full of activity, from hosting my second dinner party to running a Sunday morning race in Central Park and of course, watching the Super Bowl last night. I’ll share more about that dinner party later in the week, with today’s post focusing on just my weekly workouts and a Gridiron 4M race recap!

Rabbit, rabbit. Starting February off right! January flew by pretty fast, but not before I squeezed in some good runs during the last week of the month. So let’s take a look at my weekly workouts and updates and see what’s next for me with running.

Staying Safe on a Snowstorm Run

After all the snow brought on by Winter Storm Jonas this weekend, there’s no better time to talk about running in the snow. I shared a few tips about running safely in the snow last January but I thought I’d update those with what I’ve learned since, especially when it comes to running not just in snow, but after a major weather event.

Weekly Workouts and Updates to Kick Off 2016

Happy New Year to one and all! It’s the first Monday of 2016, and I’m kicking off the year on the blog with my usual weekly workouts and updates. I’m making these posts a priority because I’m running the New York City Marathon in November and plan to document my training journey here. I won’t start officially training until late March or early April, but I’ve got three half marathons on the calendar between now and then. Starting with the Walt Disney World Half Marathon on January 9th (and the 10K the prior day), just a few days away.
