WIAW #56: Home for a Saturday

In this WIAW, I’m showcasing my eats from a Saturday that included a short morning run, one of my closest friends’ bridal showers, and dinner at my family’s house in Connecticut. About 45 minutes before my run, I had a mug of warm lemon water and an apple with peanut butter.

WIAW #52: Workday Eats

This week’s WIAW is all about what I eat on a typical workday. After showcasing a half marathon weekend of eats, and one relaxing at my childhood home in Connecticut, I figured it was time to show you what happens most days of the week. It can’t be all amazing diner brunches and ice cream twice a day (although that’s necessary when it happens). Most days, it’s packed lunches and easy to prep dinners, although I always leave room for some sweet treats too…

WIAW #30

When I went to type in the title of this post, I was taken aback. The fact that I’ve been doing What I Ate Wednesday, or WIAW, for 30 weeks is just crazy – not to mention the fact that my one year blogiversary is fast approaching! More on that when the time comes, but for now, for everyone who’s enjoyed following the eats of a gluten free, tree nut free, orange and pineapple and avocado free, and still discovering the best way to eat for herself runner – on to a day of eats! Like my first week at work, I started with breakfast when I arrived at my office around 8:30am, a bowl of berries and a slice of smoked salmon quiche that I packed myself.

WIAW #28: Sweet Potatoes to Spaghetti Squash

Happy Wednesday! As usual, I’m sharing a day of eats with you all, although this is a snapshot of last Friday rather than the usual Tuesday, since my first week of work has been all about orientation with no time for food photography – yet! I’m still eating a bit differently to figure out what’s disagreeing with my tummy, as I was last week, mostly free from (cow’s) dairy and grains. Which doesn’t mean I can’t still eat delicious meals, like this simple but tasty breakfast of a turkey and spinach omelet with a baked sweet potato.

Happy Wednesday! It’s time to showcase another day of eats, this time a Tuesday when I was happy to be home after my California adventures. Nothing says home to me like a plate of pancakes for breakfast, so some of my favorite gluten free fluffy pancakes were in order, with scrambled eggs and berries and maple syrup.

Weekly Workouts and Updates 7/27-8/2

Hello and happy Sunday, everyone! I am a lot cheerier today than I have been in awhile because my ~10 weeks of freedom began last Wednesday night. It’s time for a recap of the week that got me to this lovely point, starting with my weekly workouts and ending with weekend updates.

Weekly Workouts

Monday: 6.3 miles

Tuesday: Bar Exam

Wednesday: Bar Exam

Thursday: 7 miles

Friday: 8 miles

Saturday: Rest Day

Sunday: 6 miles (planned)

Despite the heat and humidity I was grateful for my pre-exam run Monday and post-exam outing Thursday to let the stress literally sweat out of me! I was a little nervous Friday since I got my stitch removed on Thursday afternoon and the site was sore. But I did a good job taking care of the site, and my doctor said as long as I kept a Band-Aid on and wrapped it tightly for runs, it would be fine. The trade-off for running is a small circular scar instead of a thinner straight line, but I have lots of scars anyway. I’m just happy to be running and getting back on track because Dumbo is in just over a month! And as part of my training, one of my college friends who I’ll be staying with in England signed us up to run a 10K in Hyde Park together which should be lots of fun.
