Sitting down to write this, it feels like forever since I’ve done a weekly workouts recap. It has been a few weeks, and that’s because I came down with a bad cold the last day of our trip to Maine and took about a week off, just getting back into it this past week. My mileage is slowly climbing upward, and I am looking forward to beginning marathon training in June. Let’s get to the weekly workouts, and I’ll share a few scenes from the weekend as well!
This time last year, I was finishing up classes at Columbia Law School and getting ready to graduate. I was nervously anticipating the bar exam, while eagerly looking forward to the second half of the summer and my planned travels. I had absolutely no idea how any of it was going to go. And now? A good friend from law school and I had brunch last weekend, and she said she felt like ten years had passed rather than one, that she wouldn’t even recognize her old life. I understand what she’s saying. So much happened just this month that it felt like longer, and as for the past year, I was right about one thing back then. I had no idea that my life would be what it is today.
This WIAW is all about my eats from a weekend at the shore. It won’t be what you’d expect from a typical beach weekend, because even though it was April it was actually snowing on Saturday and lots of the boardwalk eateries were shuttered, but you will see lots of eggs, and of course, some ice cream. Because that happens no matter which way the weather goes.
Another Monday, another round of my weekly workouts and updates. This week featured a few of my regular work morning runs in Central Park, along with a couple of weekend jaunts in some new-to-me running territory, the boardwalk in the beach town where my boyfriend grew up. I’ll do a quick rundown of those before getting to the rest of the weekend events!
