WIAW #30

When I went to type in the title of this post, I was taken aback. The fact that I’ve been doing What I Ate Wednesday, or WIAW, for 30 weeks is just crazy – not to mention the fact that my one year blogiversary is fast approaching! More on that when the time comes, but for now, for everyone who’s enjoyed following the eats of a gluten free, tree nut free, orange and pineapple and avocado free, and still discovering the best way to eat for herself runner – on to a day of eats! Like my first week at work, I started with breakfast when I arrived at my office around 8:30am, a bowl of berries and a slice of smoked salmon quiche that I packed myself.

Five Things Friday: The Tide of Summer

Growing up, I would walk along the beach in Connecticut or down the Cape or coastal Maine, right at the tide line where the ocean meets the sand. The waves lap over rocks and seashells, and every few steps I’d bend down to check one out and maybe take it home for my collection (even now, I still open little boxes and purses in my bedroom at home that have been hiding in corners, and find pieces of shells, with a few grains of sand nestling in the edges). It seemed to me that the ocean made the land move, making more of it at low tide and then taking over again as the tide crept high.

WHAT-I-ATE-WEDNESDAY-NEW-BUTTON-PEAS-AND-CRAYONS

Welcome to another WIAW. This round of What I Ate Wednesday is actually of a Wednesday, which I am not sure I’ve ever done before! I snapped photos of my eats from last Wednesday to share with all of you. The bar is getting closer, and my eats are getting pretty samesies, but they’re still delicious, nutritious, and good for body and soul! Breakfast was a gluten free waffle-wich, sweetened up with some honey roasted turkey breast, apple slices, sharp Cheddar, and a touch of maple syrup between two Van’s apple cinnamon waffles. Absolutely delicious with my usual decaf iced coffee.

Weekly Workouts + Fourth of July Weekend Recap

Hope everyone had a fabulous Fourth of July weekend filled with family, friends, food and fun. I’m checking in at the start of this week to share my weekly workouts and a Fourth of July weekend recap! My weekend was low-key, and that was lovely. It started off with a ‘freedom’ run. Not just to do with the holiday, but because I ran without headphones, meaning no music and no bar exam lectures, and without any particular distance in mind. I ran when I felt like it, at the speed I felt like, slowing to a walk occasionally. In the end I probably jogged about 5 miles and walked 1 around the hilly Ridgefield roads and at the recreation center.
