I hope everyone’s week is off to a smashing start! As for me, I’m getting in some early morning runs before the heat gets too high, and studying up a storm (in between my snacks). Honestly, I’m still reeling today because in yesterday’s lecture my world was rocked. I learned that in New York, there is no spousal privilege when testifying in a criminal case – meaning that Gossip Girl’s awesome series finale Chuck-and-Blair wedding would not actually have worked like it was supposed to… I was walking by Bethesda Fountain, where they filmed the scene, on my way home from a run listening to the lecture, and I was totally thrown!
Anyway, as promised, today I’m sharing my recipe for a summery gluten free Peaches n’ Cream Oatmeal Cake! I whipped one up for a post-run breakfast. This is the last oatmeal cake recipe I’ll be posting for awhile, since the weather is heating up and my breakfasts will be shifting away from the heartier oatmeal cakes that heat up the oven and the house to sweet treats that start off the morning in a cooler way. But it is the perfect one for the start of summer, so I hope you’ll enjoy giving it a whirl with some seasonal sweet and juicy peaches.

I love the Gossip Girl reference!! Is it just me that gets extremely annoyed when TV gets facts wrong – I work in the medical field and when I see certain treatments being preformed on Greys incorrectly, or something as simple as CPR on Law & Order done wrong I get infuriated haha. Favorite summer fruit = raspberries. Although watermelon is making a come back in a big way : )

I love both raspberries and watermelon – we are definitely chowing down on the latter more lately! And yes, the funny thing is I have never watched any “law” tv shows (never seen law & order or anything like that) so don’t usually know to get annoyed, but that one threw me since I was such a GG fan π
